Brussels Airport Update

 

THAI resumes regular flights to Brussels

Starting 9 April 2016, THAI will resume regular flight schedule between Bangkok, Thailand and Brussels, Belgium in accordance with its 2016 summer schedule.  THAI operates four flights weekly from Bangkok to Brussels with the following flights:

- TG934 departs from Bangkok on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday at 0030 hours and arrives in Brussels on the same day at 0740 hours (local time).

- TG935 departs from Brussels on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday at 1330 hours and arrives in Bangkok the following day at 0535 hours (local time).  Minimum check-in time in Brussels is three (3) hours before departure.

THAI had been unable to operate flights to Brussels Zaventem Airport due to the explosions at Brussels airport on 22 March, but had been operating limited flights between Bangkok and Liège regional airport in Belgium, during 31 March and 7 April period.

For information regarding THAI operations, passengers are advised to check news update through THAI website www.thaiairways.com or THAI Contact Center (+66)2-356-1111.

For practical information regarding the airport facilities, security and transport into Brussels Zaventem airport, the public is advised to visit the airport authority’s website at www.brusselsairport2203.be . Brussels Airport requests passengers to arrive at Brussels Airport minimum 3 hours before departure time.

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) confirms to restart flights Bangkok-Brussels-Bangkok TG934/TG935 as from 9 April onwards
 
THAI will restart flights Bangkok – Brussels - Bangkok as from 9 April onwards after the Brussels Zaventem Airport in Belgium was closed following the airport explosions of 22 March.
 
Please find below schedules for flights as from 9 April onwards
 
TG934 Bangkok (BKK) – Brussels (BRU) : departure as from 9 April in Bangkok at 00h30 AM (Bangkok time) with arrival in Brussels the same day at 07h40 AM (Belgium time)

TG935 Brussels (BRU)  – Bangkok (BKK) : departure as from 9 April in Brussels at 13h30 (Belgium time) with arrival in Bangkok one day later at 05h35 AM (Bangkok time)
 
In case you have already rebooked your flight into another gateway (Frankfurt, Paris,…), please kindly contact your travel agent or THAI office to modify back to Brussels flights if you want this but only limited seats available.
 
In case of connecting flights, there should be no problem since the new timing is the same as originally booked but please kindly check with your travel agent or THAI office in case you booked online on THAI website.
 
Please kindly be informed that for check-in in Brussels, passengers have to arrive check-in minimum 3.5 hours before departure due to limited check-in capacity at Brussels Zaventem airport.

THAI will operate to/from BKK  to/from Liège airport (Belgium) with new schedule as follow due to still unable to operate THAI flights into Brussels Zaventem Airport in Belgium following the airport explosions of 22 March.

In case your booking from/to Brussels still existed, you will be automatically rebooked into Liège flights with new schedule and your original ticket will be accepted accordingly at check-in in Bangkok or Liège.
In case you have been already rebooked into another airport (e.g. Paris or Frankfurt), you have to contact your travel agent or THAI office in case you want to change to Liège flights, subject to seats available. You can only travel on Liège flights with confirmed booking from/to Liège.
If you have a onwards connecting flight out of Bangkok, please note that the arrival in Bangkok is now later than original booking. In that case, please contact your travel agent to rebook the connecting flight if needed or contact your THAI office in case you booked online on THAI website.

Ticketing procedure handling to/from Brussels


Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) issued a travel waiver to allow customers to rebook or cancel travel on the route Bangkok-Brussels following the explosion at Brussels Zaventem Airport in Belgium.
 
Mr. Wiwat Piyawiroj, Acting Vice President, Sales Department, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited, said that THAI has implemented a travel waiver for tickets issued in Thailand prior to 22 March 2016 for travel during the period 22 March – 15 April 2016.  Customers may change flights or the date of travel one time and must commence travel within the ticket validity date.  In addition, customers may change their flight routing to any destination operated by THAI within Europe without any additional charges but are required to pay any difference on the ticket price.  Customers may also opt for a full refund without any charges before 30 April 2016.  For customers who may not be able to obtain a refund, conditions apply based on the ticket agreement.  Customers may obtain further information and check the flight schedule on www.thaiairways.com or by calling the THAI Contact Center at Tel. +66(2)356-1111 (24 hours a day).
 
Brussels Zaventem Airport has been closed since yesterday (22 March 2016), therefore no flights can depart from Belgium, including flight TG935 on the route Brussels-Bangkok which normally would depart from Brussels at 13:10 hours (local time) and arrive in Bangkok at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 06:10 hours (the following day), which the flight departure will be postponed until Brussels Zaventem Airport reopens.  Further updates will be provided.
 
THAI operates four flights per week to Brussels every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, utilizing Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.  Flight TG934 departs from Suvarnabhumi Airport at 00:30 hours and arrives at Brussels Zaventem Airport at 07:00 hours (local time, same day arrival).  Flight TG935 departs from Brussels Zaventem Airport at 13:10 hours (local time) and arrives at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 06:10 hours (the following day).

Brussels Airport Explosion on Tuesday 22MAR16 will have a profound impact on the number of air travel
for a sector in and out of Belgium.
 
Please be advised/notified on the ticket handling procedures for TG online passenger
holding TG document (217) as follow;
 
For TG document issued worldwide except Thailand before 22MAR16  with travel period during 22MAR16 - 15APR16
 
1.  Reservation Change for sector from/to Brussels
1.1  Authorize to change date of travel within ticket validity without fee and
surcharges for any TG online passenger for sector to/from Brussels.
Notation on the Remark field on the PNR: "Involuntary change due to Brussels Airport Explosion"

2.  Rerouting/Reissuing :
2.1  Authorize to reroute/reissue ticket within its validity without fee and surcharges. The routing may be changed to a destination within Europe which flight operated by TG only.
2.2  Recalculation shall be corresponding to the original fares and TFCs paid.
2.2.1 Any additional amount to be collected (e.g. fares, tax (es), surcharges) differences and/or other expenses occurred are on passenger’s account.
2.2.2 When the new itinerary results in a lower fare, no credit of the residual amount will be made.
2.2.3 For TG document issued at TG online and off-line offices in Europe, the return flight coupon BKK-BRU dated 22MAR16-15APR16 can be involuntary reissued to BKK-FRA/MUC/ZRH/PAR flight operated by TG for travel during 22MAR16-15APR16  without any addition charges.         
 
3. Refund
3.1 For  refundable ticket, the refund fee will be waived. Submit or contact by 30APR16.
3.2 For non-refundable ticket, the conditions remain unchanged.
