    THAI Resumes Normal Flight Operations on Bangkok-Osaka Route

    21 September 2018

    Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) resumed normal flight between Bangkok and Osaka, Japan starting on 21 September 2018, after Kansai Airport fully reopened for service.


    Flight Lieutenant Pratana Patanasiri, THAI Vice President, Aviation Security and Standards, said that Kansai Airport has fully reopened for service on 21 September 2018. Therefore, THAI is allowed to operate its normal two round-trip flights per day on the Bangkok-Osaka route as follows:

    -  Flight TG672 departs from Suvarnabhumi Airport at 08.25 hours and arrives at Kansai Airport, Osaka, at 15.55 hours (local time).
    -  Flight TG673 departs from Kansai Airport, Osaka, at 17.35 hours (local time) and arrives at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 21.25 hours.
    -  Flight TG622 departs from Suvarnabhumi Airport at 23.30 hours and arrives at Kansai Airport, Osaka, at 07.00 hours (local time) on the next day.
    -  Flight TG623 departs from Kansai Airport, Osaka, at 11.45 hours (local time) and arrives at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 15.35 hours.

    THAI Resumes Flight Operations on Bangkok-Osaka Route

    14 September 2018

    Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) resumed flight between Bangkok and Osaka, Japan starting on 14 September 2018, after Kansai Airport reopened for service.

    Flight Lieutenant Pratana Patanasiri, THAI Vice President, Aviation Security and Standards, said that Kansai Airport is severely affected by Typhoon Jebi and the airport has been closed since 4 September 2018. Kansai Airport has announced an opening of the south wing of Kaisai Airport from 14-20 September 2018. Due to limited airport slot, THAI is allowed to operate its flights on the Bangkok-Osaka route as follows:

    Normal flights operating daily
    -    Flight TG672 departs from Suvarnabhumi Airport at 08.25 hours and arrives at Kansai Airport, Osaka, at 15.55 hours (local time).
    -    Flight TG673 departs from Kansai Airport, Osaka, at 17.35 hours (local time) and arrives at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 21.25 hours.

    Flights operating every other day until 20 September 2018
    -    Flight TG622 departs from Suvarnabhumi Airport at 23.30 hours and arrives at Kansai Airport, Osaka, at 07.00 hours (local time) on the next day. Flight operates on 14, 16 and 18 September 2018.
    -    Flight TG623 departs from Kansai Airport, Osaka, at 11.45 hours (local time) and arrives at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 15.35 hours. Flight operates on 15, 17 and 19 September 2018.

    Due to the partial opening of Kansai Airport, fewer check-in counters will be available which may slow down the check-in process due to the overcapacity passengers. Passengers can do online check-in 1-24 hours prior to departure time at thaiairways.com website or via THAI’s Mobile application which is available on both iOS and Android operating system.

    Passengers are advised to arrive the airport 3 hours prior to departure time as Kansai Airport announced that only the airport coaches and airport limousine buses can cross the bridge which connects the airport from Izumisano city.

    To facilitate passengers, THAI has extended period to change itinerary for passenger without any fees until 20 September 2018. THAI passengers holding roundtrip tickets between Bangkok and Osaka during 3-20 September 2018 may reroute to other destinations in Japan which are Tokyo (Narita and Haneda), Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Sapporo, by 20 September 2018. Fees and charges will be exempted with condition applied. Passengers are advised to contact THAI sales offices or THAI Contact Center at Tel. +66(0)2-356-1111, or travel agents.

    THAI Flights Bangkok-Osaka Cancellation Extends

    10 September 2018

    Today (10 September 2018), Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) announced an extension of its Bangkok-Osaka flight cancellation to 13 September 2018, and passengers holding THAI tickets on the Bangkok-Osaka route can change their travel itineraries without any fees and changes until 20 September 2018. 
     
    Flight Lieutenant Pratana Patanasiri, THAI Vice President, Aviation Safety, Security and Standards, said that Kansai Airport is severely affected by Typhoon Jebi and it has announced that the airport will remain close until further notice. THAI, therefore extends its flight cancellation period between Bangkok and Osaka until 13 September 2018 with the following schedule:
     
    1. Flight TG672 which was scheduled to depart from Suvarnabhumi Airport at 08.25 hours and arrive at Kansai Airport, Osaka, at 15.55 hours (local time).
    2. Flight TG673 which was scheduled to depart from Kansai Airport, Osaka, at 17.35 hours (local time) and arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 21.25 hours.
    3. Flight TG622 which was scheduled to depart from Suvarnabhumi Airport at 23.30 hours and arrive at Kansai Airport, Osaka, at 07.00 hours (local time) on the next day.
    4. Flight TG623 which was scheduled to depart from Kansai Airport, Osaka, at 11.45 hours (local time) and arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 15.35 hours.

    THAI passengers holding roundtrip tickets between Bangkok and Osaka during 3-20 September 2018 may reroute to other destinations in Japan which are Tokyo (Narita and Haneda), Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Sapporo, within 20 September 2018.     THAI Provides Bigger Aircraft and Employs Nagoya as a Hub to Transfer Stranded Passengers from Osaka

    Mr. Wiwat Piyawiroj, Executive Vice President, Commercial, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), said that on behalf of THAI as a national carrier, extends sincere condolences to people that were affected by Typhoon Jebi in Osaka. The heavy storm damaged houses and Kansai International Airport remains closed. THAI is concerned over the situation and has facilitated passengers as follow:

    1) THAI will waive fees for passengers holding roundtrip tickets on the Bangkok-Osaka routes during 3-15 September 2018 who request to reroute to other destinations in Japan which are: Tokyo (Narita and Haneda), Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Sapporo. Changes can be made within 15 September 2018 with condition applied.
    2) THAI employed Nagoya as a hub to transfer stranded passengers. Nagoya is the nearest flight route to Osaka which is convenient for passengers, as THAI operates 14 flights per week to Nagoya.
    3) THAI provided bigger aircraft on the Bangkok-Nagoya route to help transfer passengers during 6-7 September 2018.

    THAI Flights Bangkok-Osaka Still Cancels after Airport Closure

    Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) announced cancellation of flights on the Bangkok-Osaka routes on 5-11 September 2018. For customer’s convenience, passengers who hold THAI’s tickets on Bangkok-Osaka route may reroute to other destinations in Japan without any fees and changes.
     
    Flight Lieutenant Pratana Patanasiri, THAI Vice President, Aviation Safety, Security and Standards, said that due to Typhoon Jebi, THAI has canceled flights between Bangkok and Osaka following the closure of Osaka’s Kansai International Airport as follows:

    1.  Flight TG672 which was scheduled to depart from Suvarnabhumi Airport at 08.25 hours and arrive at Kansai Airport, Osaka, at 15.55 hours (local time).
    2.  Flight TG673 which was scheduled to depart from Kansai Airport, Osaka, at 17.35 hours (local time) and arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 21.25 hours.
    3.  Flight TG622 which was scheduled to depart from Suvarnabhumi Airport at 23.30 hours and arrive at Kansai Airport, Osaka, at 07.00 hours (local time) on the next day.
    4.  Flight TG623 which was scheduled to depart from Kansai Airport, Osaka, at 11.45 hours (local time) and arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 15.35 hours.

    THAI Cancels Flights on Bangkok-Osaka Route Due to Kansai Airport Closure
    04 September 2018

    Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) announced to cancel its flights on Bangkok-Osaka routes, v.v. on 4-5 September, 2018 due to a temporary closure of Kansai Airport that was affected by Typhoon Jebi.

    Flight Lieutenant Pratana Patanasiri, THAI Vice President Aviation Safety, Security and Standards Department, said that due to Typhoon Jebi approaching Japan today (4 September, 2018) at noon time, Kansai Airport has been damaged and the runway was flooded. All airlines ceased flight departures and arrivals. It is not known when Kansai Airport will be able to operate again. As a result, THAI needs to cancel more flights on the route Bangkok-Osaka, v.v. on 4-5 September, 2018 as follows:

    1. Flight TG622 on the Bangkok-Osaka route which was scheduled to depart from Suvarnabhumi Airport on 4 September, 2018 at 23.30 hours and arrive at Kansai Airport, Osaka on the following day at 07.00 hours (local time).
    2. Flight TG623 on the Osaka-Bangkok route which was scheduled to depart from Kansai Airport, Osaka on 5 September, 2018 at 11.45 hours (local time) and arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 15.35 hours.

    THAI will closely monitor and assess the situation. THAI will resume normal flight operations when Kansai Airport is reopened normally.

    THAI Cancels and Reschedules Flights from Bangkok to Japan v.v. Due to Typhoon Jebi
    03 September 2018

    Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) announced to cancel and reschedule its flights on Bangkok-Nagoya and Bangkok-Osaka routes, v.v. that will be affected by Typhoon Jebi on 4 September, 2018.

    Flight Lieutenant Pratana Patanasiri, THAI Vice President Aviation Safety, Security and Standards Department, said that the Japan Meteorological Agency has warned Japanese residents that Typhoon Jebi is expected to approach Japan. For safety reason, THAI cancels and reschedules flights to Japan on 4 September, 2018 as follows:

    Cancellation of 4 flights
    1. Flight TG646 on the Bangkok-Nagoya route which was scheduled to depart from Suvarnabhumi Airport at 10.45 hours and arrive at Nagoya Airport at 18.40 hours (local time).
    2. Flight TG647 on the Nagoya-Bangkok route which was scheduled to depart from Nagoya Airport at 00.30 hours (local time) and arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 04.30 hours.
    3. Flight TG672 on the Bangkok-Osaka route which was scheduled to depart from Suvarnabhumi Airport at 08.25 hours and arrive at Kansai Airport, Osaka at 15.55 hours (local time).
    4. Flight TG673 on route Osaka-Bangkok route which was scheduled to depart from Kansai Airport, Osaka at 17.35 hours (local time) and arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 21.25 hours.

    Reschedule of 2 flights
    1. Flight TG623 on the Osaka-Bangkok route which was scheduled to depart from Kansai Airport, Osaka at 11.45 hours (local time) and arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 15.35 hours, reschedules to depart from Kansai Airport, Osaka at 11.00 hours (local time) and  arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 14.50 hours.
    2. Flight TG645 on the Nagoya-Bangkok route which was scheduled to depart from Nagoya Airport at 11.00 hours (local time) and arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 15.00 hours, reschedules to depart from Nagoya Airport at 10.00 hours (local time) and arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 14.00 hours.
