  Clothing: France has four distinct seasons. An overcoat and warm clothing are needed for late autumn, winter and early spring. Lighter apparel is fine for the rest of the year.
  
  Visas and health regulations:
  • A visa is issued for the purpose of a short stay in French. Employment is not permitted during the stay covered by the visa. For non-Europeans, visas are issued in advance by French missions abroad.
  • No vaccinations are required unless you have recently been to a yellow fever area.

  Business hours: Normal opening hours for shops are Tuesday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. In Paris and larger cities, some stores may remain open until 10 p.m. Outside of Paris smaller stores take a two-hour lunch break, usually from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.  Banks are usually open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Some banks close from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and some are open Saturday mornings.
