Evening Reception Celebrates Kew Gardens' Orchids Festival

On the evening of February 26 a glittering reception to mark the attendance of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn was hosted by the Director of the Royal Botanic Gardens and the Royal Thai Embassy in the United Kingdom at the Orchids Festival at The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

On arrival at the reception, held at Kew’s Princess of Wales Conservatory, Mrs. Usanee Sangsingkeo, THAI, Acting President, presented a special wrist garland to HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

THAI is the proud sponsor of this, the 23rd Orchids Festival, the first time Kew’s annual floral extravaganza has been inspired by Thailand which is home to an extraordinary 1,100 species of orchid.

During the Festival, four pairs of package holidays to Thailand are to be won, courtesy of complementary economy return flights provided by THAI (the public can find more information on entering the competition at their local Gails Bakery). THAI passengers will also receive a 25% discount on the Kew admission fee when showing their THAI Boarding passes during the event (10 February till 11 March 2018).

Mrs. Usanee Sangsingkeo said “Orchids are our national flower as well as the inspiration for the logo of our national airline.   We are therefore very proud to be representing the Kingdom of Thailand during the Festival and promoting tourism between our two countries.”

From 1 February, 2018 Thai Airways reintroduced the Boeing 777-300ER on its uninterrupted double daily service from London to Bangkok. The world’s largest twinjet aircraft once again took to the skies on THAI’s overnight TG917 service from London Heathrow to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, replacing the A350 introduced last September.

TG917 (B777) departs Heathrow at 21:35 daily, arriving at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport at 16:00.

TG911 (A380) departs Heathrow at 11.50pm daily, arriving at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport at 06.15am.*

THAI is the national carrier of Thailand, a founding member of Star Alliance and has been flying from the UK for over 40 years.

It serves 61 destinations in 33 countries across five continents and is proud to be one of the largest airlines in South East Asia.
